Sun, Sweat, and Music at the Lowell Folk Festival
There are only a few times in life when standing in the sun, sweat dripping from my could be considered fun. Today was one of those days! Today is the second day of the Lowell Folk Festival and I got there right when things kicked off. It’s nice because there is a large section of downtown completely roped off for pedestrians only so it’s easy to get to all the stages. I wanted to take my time and just look for compositions I liked, meandering around looking for things that caught my eye. There were thousands pf people there when I arrived and more when I left. Every act seemed very nice and happy to be here, even on such a warm day.
- Greek Orthodox Church, just restored.
- This Officer wasn’t adept at balancing on this Segway. I was hoping for an action photo!
- What if I pull the RED one?
- Yeah, that MUST be Jerrod Mayo.
- This guy was ripping up this Rhodes. I actually got thrown out of this performance because I didn’t have a Press pass.
- This guy could squeeze!
- Sweet Couple, great dancers!
- A swinging bunch of boys, called themselves, “Pine Leaf.”
- Then I turned around and saw this! Wow.
- Never been, but I bet it’s better than Chipotle.
- Haffner’s is a Lowell Landmark and still charging way too much for watered down gas. There’s a reason “It Kicks!”
- I was surprised to learn that Wilford Brimley was in attendance!
- Keeping it classy. This isn’t New Orleans kid!
- There was lots of food. This looks like guinea pig! (I’m hoping it’s Chicken!)
- And more food!
- This guy was Mr. Cool for the entire gig.
- I love this angle, keeping the sign in the shot.
- I really liked this squeezebox, it was an old design amidst new tech.
- I love the shirt!
- Irish Fiddling was done!
- It’s rare to see so many brick smoke stacks in one place, but Lowell has quite a few thanks to the Merrimack river.
- WAY too many people in this space!
- I just kind of dug the different cloud formations.
- Midday Black and Tan
- This little girl wasn’t happy about the fact a stranger painting her.
- I believe this guy is a big deal somewhere in the world as I heard many people whisper and point.
- They kept having to wake this guy up! (He was actually great though…nice choices.
- An artist capturing an artist capturing…oh fuck it I’ve lost track already.
- This trolley is off the world of make believe (a.k.a. Safe Lowell)! I kid…that’s what I do.
- Is it me or does this guy look like Jerrod Mayo?
- The burgers looked good, but the “Caution” sign made me hesitant.
- This was a Russian street performer who was quite charming and great at making kids laugh.
