Mobile Gaming, Accelerometers and the Future

Check out this cool video of Quake 3 on an iPod touch. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvci1vTXyUo] It will be interesting to see what can be done in this arena. “Other Ocean,” a Canadian company located on Prince Edward Island, announced that they are working with Sega to develop a demo version of Monkey Ball for the iPhone. How about Marble Madness? There are a ton of games that LEND themselves to accelerometers, but it will be interesting to see how the technology is adapted to more traditional gaming. In the video I can see that getting used to controlling your direction and movement …

I’ve got really decent seats for BOTH Pearl Jam shows at Great Woods! The first night I’m in section 5 and the second night I’m in section 6 (Centerstage). It’s going to be so awesome…end of June, warm summer night…AAAIIIIIIEEEEEE! So excited! MiH Pearl Jam – Present Tense

PJ Tickets go on sale VERY SOON!

I’m sitting here with multiple browser windows open and my phone on standby to assault Ticketmaster for my PJ tickets. I’ve been to so many shows in the past that just couldn’t miss this show or sit in a bad seat…it’s got to be GOOD.  That could mean upwards of $500.00 a ticket from a ticket agent if I can’t get good seats through ticketmaster.  It’s funny to think that PJ and ticketmaster had such a feud and now Ticketmaster is where I look for the CHEAP tickets…ah irony. I’m a member of 10 Club, which automatically gets me tickets…but …

Sexuality, Dating and the Modern Mookie

Being an adult there are certain facets of dating that can get complicated and invariably do. Dating in my 30’s is a new experience for me. I’ve been in two major relationships that have dominated my dating years so my experience in this new arena, as an adult, is nill. I do however, have my friends to use as examples and garner information from but I find that the view I get is directly related to the personality giving it. So…that tells me that it’s really not based on a ruleset or norm, but rather the people involved. Ok…I can …

72% of all Americans play computer games…that’s a fricking HUGE number.

The NPD Group (one of those stats companies) just published their annual results charting what percentage of the U.S. population plays video games. 72% of Americans play some sort of video games, up from 64% last year. Of that 72%, only 42% play games online, up from 40% last year. Of that 42% of online players, 90% play online with their PC. 50% of online console gaming was on the Xbox 360. Only 2-3% of NPD’s respondents reported owning more than one console. It’s amazing to me that HP and other Computing/Internet/Web companies are ignoring this incredibly HUGE market. I …

My Black Space

This is my black space. The space where I speak my mind and reflect. It’s not to be disguised or tempered, it’s meant to be what it is…an unflinching reflection of my thoughts. That being said, I’ve felt I’ve gotten away from that recently because I know that the people that know me read this blog. I don’t feel like I’m being true to the core reason I started this blog. I’m asking those that DO read this to understand that where I’m coming from and to accept what’s written here as my personal thoughts and to NOT use them …

Feeling a bit run down.

I’ve been exercising a lot and restricting my caloric intake in an effort to lose some weight and decrease body fat and it’s seriously running me down. I’m sure I’m missing something because I’ve had less energy lately. I’m taking a multi-vitamin, Omega complex and Chromium Picolinate daily (some more than once) so I shouldn’t be deficient in regards to vitamins. I’m wondering if I should take a day off to rest but I’ve no assurance I’d feel better and I would be wasting a day. I wanted to go six straight days this week though to get that extra …

HP Gaming Blogs

I’ve got a great opportunity to potentially manage the HP Gaming Blog and Gaming forum. You might initially think “HP and Gaming?” Don’t be discouraged my friend because even though Gaming isn’t HP’s focus there are a few aces in the proverbial ‘sleeve.’ There is so much work to be done before a launching like this. I’ve got to make some internal connections within HP, I’ve got to finagle and social engineer some connections with a few developers too. Maybe even take a journalism course! So much to do and so little time. One thing I know…if I can’t do …

This Dead Fantasy II Video ROCKS!

This is an amazing…movie I guess. I recognize some of the characters from the Dead or Alive series but that’s about it. I’ve watched this several times, each time focusing on a different character. There is so much going on it’s impossible to get everything in one or two sittings. Very good stuff. [vodpod id=ExternalVideo.489440&w=425&h=350&fv=] from www.gametrailers.com posted with vodpod

How long has it been now?

82 Days since I’ve smoked. It seems like MUCH longer actually but I’m finally on the 14mg patches! I’m feeling great about not smoking and look forward to many years or easy breathing because of the commitment I made to quit now. I’ve smoked for about 20 years now and I’m sure that’s not been good for me but I know that I’m adding years to my life by doing this. I read back earlier in this blog and I remember being days past quitting and going out of my mind. This past weekend was easter and the family got …
