Simon and Garfunkel.
You know…there are quite a few great Simon and Garfunkel songs. But there are also a bunch of crap songs…just pure junk. That is all. =) MiH
Friends…
I’m funny when it comes to friends. As I’ve posted before, I’m getting married next August 22nd and I’ve been making a list of people to invite. It’s interesting to actually have to write down how many friends I have because the number was smaller than I thought it would be. There was also a surprising number of friends that I’ve simply grown away from over the last decade. For some of those friends distance was a good thing, but for a lot of them I had no explanation as to why I didn’t “know” them anymore. For two friends …
I’m aware…
that posting videos doesn’t make for an interesting blog…but we’re talking about Mr. T here. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H5Yza2XO8k] I’m digging the John Carpenter soundtrack. Very 80’s. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cUiuaWFr2E] MiH
Pretty Cool Ad.
Even though I’m not sure what they’re advertising…I love the smoke chugging T-Rex! [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzd1OiP27s0] Click through for the HIGH DEFINITION version…which is MUCH better quality. MiH
The power of community.
Many of you know I work at Tabblo, which is the best job in the world. Yeah, it’s cool because you can tell stories with your photos, and the editing tools and the fact you can make posters and books. The reason it’s special is that Tabblo has a community of people that have really grown to respect and care for each other in a substantial way. Granted this is a small community but it’s a devoted community which is the HARD part when trying to get a web idea to stick to the wall. This is a community that, …
From CNN…
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) — The journalist who hurled his shoes at U.S. President George W. Bush has described his attack as “ugly” and asked the Iraqi government for leniency. A government spokesman confirmed Thursday that Muntadhar al-Zaidi penned a contrite handwritten letter to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki requesting compassionate treatment. Yaseen al-Majeed, the prime minister’s media adviser and spokesman, read CNN part of the letter, saying al-Zaidi describes what he did as “the great ugly act I perpetrated” and says an excuse would not be enough for that. Al-Zaidi is hailed as a hero by many Iraqis protesting his detention …
Hey, this isn’t bad…
It’s hard to imagine Star Trek being too racy…but that’s exactly what the Turkish government thought. So, they “Sweded” their own Star Trek. Or should it now be referred to as “Turk’ed?” [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-Krq2AnROo] Enjoy! MiH
Biting the hand that freed you.
I was a bit upset to see an Iraqi reporter throwing shoes at George Bush. I’m no Bush fan, but I couldn’t help think that this fool throwing the shoes wouldn’t dare throw his shoes at Saddam Hussein. The reason this wouldn’t have happened is because this shoe-thrower knows he’d be executed. Oh how things have changed! We were being cheered on by the Iraqi people when we were “freeing them from an oppressive regime.” They bought into it, we bought into it and the world was happy that Saddam was gone. Shoes were a prevalent symbol during that period …
No more Comedy…
Dave and I were talking today about the lack of Comedy in movies these days…and we both ended up with this video, which is truly unpurposefully funny. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN3MGN899yE]
