Where did the time go?

It seems like yesterday I made a post…but apparently that was almost 2 weeks ago! Anyhoo, I’ve been really busy lately.  We just got back from a road trip-vacation to Virginia.  If you follow me on Facebook you’ve already seen the photos, for those of you NOT on FB I’ll post a few of them here.  We had a BLAST!  I was born in and lived in Virginia until I was 10, but I’ve been back many, many times as I still have immediate and extended family there.  There are Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Sisters, Brothers, Nephews and Nieces…lot’s of people …

Track Our Trip!

If you’re a friend or family member you can track us here. If you don’t give a damn whether we make you might be interested in the technology. The application should track us and allow us to take notes and upload photos along the way, noting our location. We’ll see how it works! Va. cation!

I’m heading home to Virginia tomorrow morning! While Jean and I have been on plenty of trips together, tomorrow’s trip is a bit different. We’re going to be driving down to Va., which means 10-12 hours cooped up in the car. Should be FUN! I’m going to make every effort to make this a “digital” vacation as well with GPS, mobile updates and mapping. So check back during the week or follow me on Facebook/Twitter for updates! ENJOY THE SUMMER! -Eric

Macs + Valve = Awesome, but a Little Too Late

While I do have an iPhone, it’s no secret that I’m not an Apple fanboy.  One of the first things fanboys mention to me is “Well, Macs don’t get virii or spyware like Windows machines do.” Over the last decade Mac’s have accounted for less than 3% of the total PC market share, which explains the reason why Macs aren’t the primary target for Spyware/Virus authors. That being said…the same reason Macs are less susceptible to these hazards are the same reason why Macs don’t have much in the way of gaming software available.  Developers want as many people as they can …

Anthems of the Truant!

This reminds me of driving up to Hampton Beach during Senior day in High School.  I think that if I had to pick a summer anthem it would be from this album. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQifd7O_N5k] [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ifsxn6H6yO0] Rock On! -Eric

A Must Watch for Star Wars Fans!

Simply Amazing…I don’t understand how Lucas won’t consider this storyline for a new series of Star Wars movies.  This is some awesome cinematic fighting and if this game were written specifically for the PC I might consider getting it. Enjoy! [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z52MqK2KPtI] -Eric

The Crash Kings – Familiar Sounds I’ve Never Heard Before!

I’m really into the Crash Kings today… Think…Ben Folds Five and Incubus have a sarcastic baby with major jam skills. Their album was only $7.99 on iTunes and it very well could be the best 8 bucks I’ve spent recently.  After listening to the deftly played “Mountain Man” I kept waiting for the mediocre songs, but alas, every song on this LP is worth the 4 minutes it takes to get through it. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2JdT3XyoCA] Here’s another great toon on the album that caught my ear! [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=huz_n5vFXnQ] So, I heartily recommend this album, and at 8 bucks you can’t go wrong. …

Stuff vs. Fluff – Welcome to my Frustration.

I’m professionally frustrated and I’m not sure what to do about it.  So consider this my “bitch” session because I’m not sure where else to vent these frustrations. All community managers are not the same…at least that’s what I’m discovering.  I’ve got a LOT of practical experience building and managing communities with 1 million+ users.  I’ve been through that process several times and consider myself something of an expert, although there is ALWAYS more to learn.  So, I put myself into the “stuff” category because I get stuff done…I’m in the trenches of my communities on a daily basis and …
