Exposure in the Digital Age

I googled my name this morning, as I occasionally do and not one link referring to me in the first few pages. It turns out that there are of lot of people with my name floating around the ether, that do some interesting things. There is a college-going-pro football player, there is an Actor, there is a singer song-writer, there are several engineers and the list goes on…and on…and, whatever, you get the point. If I search using my pseudonym then the whole first page is all me. Interestingly enough someone seems to have put my photo on a “Dig …

Why is it pronounced “Wendsday” when it’s spelled “Wed-nes-day?”

It’s 9:30 and no one is here…making me think I missed something yesterday. There’s a bit of mail for me to answer and a few things for me to track down, which should keep me busy most of the morning.  I’ve got to work out today regardless of the time I get out of work.  I’ve not worked out for a few days now and I feel flabby.  I was talking last night with Kelly and she asked me about losing sizes and I hadn’t thought about it until she mentioned it.  I think I have lost a size or …

Less harried afternoon.

While things haven’t been resolved it’s nice to be on the hunt instead of the discovery phase, which I refer to as “Wow, this IS fucked up.” I’ve written a few bugs and listened to some music so far, which isn’t a bad way to spend a morning. While the site has been fluky the inquiry into said flukiness has been minimal. Thankfully someone asked in “Tabblo Issues” early and I answered it there, which may have offset the normal flood, who knows. I’ve got to comment again on Julia Allison’s lip dub to that Journey tune. I’ve watched it …

Harried Monday.

We’ve been having issues with the work website all weekend and it’s coming to head this morning. That’s another discussion for another day though. The weekend was completely devoid of efficiency. I went into Boston on Saturday morning even though it was rainy and chilly. The rest of the day was wasted doing laundry and cleaning up, although looking at my apt. this morning you wouldn’t know it. Sunday I went out (albeit after noon) to get my oil changed and my haircut and got neither done. My oil change place was closed and there was over an hour wait …

Sleepy Friday.

I got SO little sleep last night that I’m in a haze right now. I do have coffee so that’s a bonus but I’m going to have to do something to wake up. I got home around 10pm and started working and listening to music. Before I know it’s 2am…and I’m dozing off in my chair. UGH! It’s a shame that I’m trying to take better care of myself but I’m getting less sleep now. I guess sleep is a really important part of good health so I’ve got to improve in that area. I just don’t feel like I’ve …

If it were any closer it would bite you…

Sometimes it’s hard to realize a good thing when it’s right in front of you. You end up taking things for granted and don’t fully appreciate the good things you’re lucky enough to have and that includes friends, health, and love. While each one of those situations isn’t perfect I know it could always be worse. We’re all human so I guess that’s something we all have in common. There have been times in my life where I’ve seen things as I’ve WANTED to see them and not how they really are…and I’ve lost things that were very important to …

Look good and feeling groovy…

It’s Wednesday and rainy here but I’m still feeling pretty good. I’m putting an effort into improving my social side and I’m getting out more, which is fun.  I’ve forgotten how rewarding a nightlife can be.  For years I was convinced that if I wasn’t in pajamas and comfy at home by 7pm then something was wasn’t right.  I think it comes down the people around you and the enjoyment I get out of hanging out.  It’s finding the balance between my commitments and the change in schedule that needs to be managed well for it to work. I’ve also …

My next new car.

I’ve owned quite a few VW’s in my life and one Scirocco. The Scirocco was my favorite car until I bought my current car, a VR6 GTI. Feast your eyes on these…   This car looks amazing to me. It maintains the length of a 4 door Golf but adopts the wide stance of the Passat. There are three TSI gasoline engines offered and one TDI diesel. The gas engines deliver 120, 158, or 145 horsepower. The diesel motor develops 140 horsepower. The standard transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. A panoramic glass roof will be available, which extends from …
