Confessions of a text-hater turned lover.

Everyone in my office loves their cellphones. Not because of the clear quality of the signal or the easy of use when making a telephone call, but for all the gadgets and gizmos on the phone. When I bought my phone I proudly declared “I’m getting my phone just to be a phone. I don’t care about the extras.” And in my mind it seemed to be the most logical course of action, and the most practical. I didn’t text, or surf the internet or need GPS….so a Razr seemed like a good choice for me.

I’m here to confess that I’m totally into texting. I hated texting before but I think it has a lot to do with WHO you’re texting. Texting now is like sending thoughts to someone. There’s absolutely no verablization, which kinds of makes it ‘secret’ and intimate…especially if you really care for the person who you’re texting with. I love thinking something and then sending that thought to that specific person…it’s usually nothing important, just a “thinking about you” or something but I like it.

Texting, for me takes a lot of time, which is ok. I don’t use the texting slang like “c u l8r” and I type everything out, including punctuation and capitalization which makes me think I could do better if I had a phone with a keyboard. I’ve looked a few different phones but haven’t made up my mind yet.

In other news, I had a great workout today. I can barely lift myself out of the chair but I know that’s a temporary thing. I can already feel my muscles responding and I’m looking forward to getting past this first stage so I can really work on getting strong again. Cardio-fitness is also something I’m looking forward to. I rowed for a mile today and it kicked my ass but soon I’ll be rowing 5 miles, which excites me. It’s really great when new things come into my life. I’ve let things go for so long and got into a mode of living that wasn’t very healthy for me, physically, mentally or emotionally.

Thank you. =)
