Here is a bit of video from one of our most recent prenatal appointments. If you look closely you can see the little bugger jumping around in there.

Cognitively I understand there is a human being growing inside my wife and even though I’ve been through it before it’s still a bit hard to comprehend what’s actually coming. This is a human I’ve yet to meet, but will eventually be one of my best friends.
The memories I have of my son Alex being a baby seem so distant and yet I can get back to that place in my heart quite easily. Now, he’s quite the independent young man, which fills me with pride but I do miss having him need me to the same degree. I also have difficulty remembering all but the most talked about memories, mainly because I was so busy trying make sure things were “taken care of.” The nostalgia, for me, comes when I think about the stuff I only glimpsed on the first go round.
This time I’m going to make sure I get to experience all the things I was too young to appreciate the first time!
